It is better if you get sms alerts from your sites when user comments or do some thing.This can be done simple ways.the only think is that you must have a little bit knowledge in PHP and a PHP enabled server(smtp must be on). If you don't know PHP,dont worry i will help you.Let's start.
First you need to sign up for a free sms service(way2sms.com or 160by2.com).
After sign up you will get a email id from the site;
way2sms.com(recommended)
In way2sms you will get an email id like 12345@way2sms.comto see the email id sign in to accout and click the "mail alerts" link on the top of the page then click on
"Link your Official/Company mail account with Way2SMS mail and receive Free email alerts on your mobile." There you can see your way2sms email id.
step 2
Next download this file sendsms.zip . and edit the file(instructions are given in this files).
open sendsms.php and set the value of $my_email = email that get from above step .
and $from_email = Your email id that you used when sign up!
(This is a script that send a sms to you when user comments ! you could modify it and use for many other purposes.)
step 3
Extract the file and upload to your server using a ftp clint(how ?) .
